For quick reference here is the 2007 Fishing Season Dates & Regulations for both Blue River & McKenzie River (not much has changed in 2008)
Fishing Changes Effective March 1, 2008: The daily bag limit for the Willamette River and tributaries above Willamette Falls will be two adult adipose fin-clipped salmon and steelhead of which only one may be a Chinook, except that an additional adipose fin-clipped steelhead may be retained.
Carmen Reservoir Open to angling for trout all year. The daily catch limit for trout is 5 per day, minimum length is 8 inches, only 1 trout over 20 inches in length may be taken per day. Use of bait is allowed. Fishing Regs for 2007

- NOTE: Changes to salmon regulations for the Columbia River system including changes to the Willamette River system are printed in May and are available at ODFW offices or from license agents. Check for new regulations before you fish.
- Harvest of non-adipose fin-clipped salmon or steelhead is prohibited in the Willamette Zone with the exception of coho salmon above Willamette Falls as noted under Special Regulations. There is no annual limit on adipose fin-clipped salmon or adipose fin-clippedsteelhead as long as the appropriate number of Hatchery Harvest Tags have been purchased to record the catch.

- Only one single-point, barbless hook may be used for sturgeon angling in the lower Willamette River below Willamette Falls including the Multnomah Channel and all tributaries to the Multnomah Channel and the lower Willamette River.
- Oversize sturgeon cannot be removed totally or in part from the water.
- Angling restricted to artificial flies and lures in streams. See exceptions under Special Regulations where use of bait is allowed.
- NOTE: Sturgeon fisheries are managed on a quota basis. Anglers should check the status of regulations prior to fishing as modifications will be made in-season if necessary to remain within catch guidelines.
